15 wistar rats which were randomly devided into three groups, 3 .0LD50,4. 0LD50 and 5. 0LD50 were given ip. injection of
sodium cyprinol sulphate (SCS), a toxic extract from the grass carp bile. The changes of hemodynamics, including arterial blood pressure (SAP、 DAP、 MAP ), left ventricular functions (LVP、 LVEDP、 ±dp/dtmax), EKG and
respiratory rate were recorded simultaneously by Polygraph System (MR6000, Nihon Konden) before and 1min、 15min、 30min、 1h、2h、3h、 4h、 5h after injection of SCS. The results showed that the arterial blood pressure (SAP、 DAP、 MAP)was falling with any selected dose; the function of the left ventricle, namely LAP、LAVED、±dp/dt max, also markedly decreased; electrocardial potential was unstable、 ST segment part was high and T-wave was invert in EKG. In the
early phase, the heart rate and the respiratory rate increased and in the late phase decreased. There were dose-effcet relationship. Those SCS exerted a select damage effect on the heart and the mechanism of death in the early phase was cardiogenic shock.
