When you''re a small part of a public company life can be very diffiuclt, masked in secrecy as to future plans, in case
investors get wind of your next move and make a killing at the stockmarket. So when you''re part of the company that is put up for sale you consider this must be positive; a move from the public to the
private
sector. Out of the darkness into the light. But there is always a question mark over the incoming management and that wise old saying ''better the devil you know'' lurking in the back of people''s minds. But surely anybody coming in has to make an improvment to the company. Pull out all the stops to turn this fluctuating business into a thriving concern. Probably then to sell it on in the future at a gross profit but I was there to enjoy the ride so I was buckled in safely. I had lost my naievity a long time ago that business was a place where people intereacted and socialised. It is cut throat and you have to make sure you''re on the balls of your feet to make sure it''s not your throat being cut. Anyway things took a sureal turn, when having lost a company director about six months
previous
after boardroom sheningans, he suddenly reappeared on the scene. It was the end to his days playing golf. Things were starting to look strange. The history of the company was that it had been private then was bought by a bigger fish to become part of a public company and was now in about to take a u-turn and return to it''s private status. The return of Bob represented the return to private and to a company they once all knew. The news filtered out that is was going to be a Management buyout by Bob and his team. This was top drawer stuff out of the script of a television drama. Bob was back and we were going to be returned to our glory days and previous status as a company to be reckoned with. To be continued. Write your abstract here.
