CBI, Congress, Kickbacks, Quattrocchi and you?

It is about three
decades
since the the Quattrocchi conundrum set the
country
afire. In more than one sense
like most other scandals it was a political creation. VP Singh vs Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors kickback scandal kick started by Singh. Rajiv has been dead and gone for nearly two
decades
now. Quattrocchi, a foreign and an Italian to boot, the CBI would say, has been on the run. In fact, he is not.
When the
country
is not able to deliver justice of even a minimalist nature to its unwashed millions, and to take care of the crimes, looting and scooting of India by Indians within India, can we afford to fritter away our legal and investigative energy and resources on a Quattrocchi who seems to be having the last laugh. Law is no doubt, the proverbial ASS. But should we be pretending to turn this ASS into an Angel at our own cost?
