Curtains of War

Article Summary   by:Stargazer     Original Author: Kristoffer
ª

"Curtains of War"
recalled how America waged a
40-year-war in Vietnam.
In the end, the US
government recalled its forces and leaved a country in the rubbles of war and
destruction.

"Curtains of War" also
tried to expose America''s
aggression in country''s refusing to vow to American dominion. http://losamigos.blogster.com
published the article.

In exporting war to Vietnam, the US
government insisted that the action was indispensable to protect
"democratic" Vietnam
from the onslaught of Communism.
After four decades of war in Vietnam,
the US
government withdrew with about 58,000 servicemen killed and more than 300,000
people, including soldiers, wounded.
Then, came September 11, 2001 attacked of New
York City''s financial capital killing 2,801people.
President George Bush, Jr. described the attacked of the World
Trade Center
(WTC) in New York City
as handy work of “terrorists.”

Bush said that the WTC
attacked was "declaration of war against the American people."

Out of the WTC incident, Bush
justified his move to hunt terrorists elsewhere around the world, the article
explained.

The hunt was directed at Osama
Ben Laden, the alleged leader of “Al Quaeda,” suspected to be a terrorist
organization.

But the search for Ben Laden
had its final route on Saddam Hussein, a defiant strongman in Iraq, refused to cooperate with the
Bush administration.

In one of his speeches, Bush
disclosed that Saddam had been defiant and refused to cooperate with the US government
for the last 11 years.

The US suspected Saddam of coddling Ben
Laden. Without a concrete evidence to show that Iraq
was hiding Ben Laden, the US
instead accused Iraq
of developing weapons of mass destruction.

“Curtains of War” gave an
insight on how US aggression
undermines countries, particularly under developed countries in Asia.

The article explained that the
US justified attacked on Iraq
under the guise of pre-empting a potential nuclear aggressor in the future.

Yet, “Curtains of War” hinted
that the US aggression on Iraq was
actually carried out for economic reasons.

The US government wants to control one
of the oil-rich countries in the Arab world to gain access to black gold.

Perhaps, American policy
makers had identified Iraq’s
vulnerable military power compared to other countries in the Middle
East.

Earlier, the article mentioned
Libya as the principal
target of US invasion in the
Middle East. Where it not for the timely
capitulation of Libyan strongman Moammar Khadaffy with the US government, the US forces would have sneaked into
Khadaffy’s backyard.

After Libya, Iraq was next in line. “Curtains of
War” is a loaded article with links provided to allow readers an independent
understanding of America’s
role in geopolitics.

While the article sounds
anti-American, it offers corroborative statements allowing readers to freely
think. ###
