You and I both know that it is a darn shame that we do need lawyers occasionally. If, heaven forbid you do ever get in trouble
with the law you had better have the money to hire yourself a good one. A good lawyer can save your bacon and might suck you dry but if he (or she) doesn''t there is always someone out there to do that to you.
Lawyers take on your
problems (and your cash) and try their best to solve that problem. If you didn''t have a problem you wouldn''t need a lawyer would you. Sometimes they succeed and sometimes they don''t but at least they try. Sure you can get a court appointed attorney to help you but face it. They are underpaid and overworked. You''re lucky if they remember your name without looking at your file. They''ll tell you to plea and admit to the crime and take your licks. Doesn''t matter if you did the crime or not you''ll still do some time.
So perhaps the best option is never to need a lawyer in the first place. Not only should you not steal but don''t even speed. Stop at those ''stop'' signs and yield at the ''yield'' signs. Don''t ever lie and stay out of the bars. Don''t go dating married women (or men) and if you have to drink alchohol then do not drive...zero, nadda, never ever!
Now you might be a fairly intelligent person and you might believe you can defend yourself. Don''t! You''ve heard that old saying and it is so true. You might know what you are doing but what you should know is that if you not a member of the clique then you are out and you will lose. The other attorneys and the Judge will make sure of it because you are not one of them. They went to law school, they passed the bar, they went through all the trials and put up with all the tortures that entitles them to be what they are. They are not going to let you join.
They will lie to you and promise you anything you want to hear and know you for what you are for believing them. Even if you have overwhelming
evidence and a jury finds for you then guess what...nothing ever gets filed as it should and the verdict falls null and void. Someone simply lost the paperwork and you get screwed. It happens every day and still people try to defend themselves. Don''t! Anything more than small claims then you had better get you a good lawyer. They''re worth it. They have made sure of it.
