so so so......the naming
issue has kicked up a storm and everyone is soooooooo unhappy.for all those who aren''t aware the proposal for the name change was passed unanimously by the legislature and has already been forwarded to the "
central" government at our "great CAPITAL" new
delhi..all they need to do is give to the ASI and they make the necessary changes in their maps and other formalities...but the apathy and the insensitiveness of the greatest democracy(my foot!!!!!) on earth will always deny
karnataka it''s due share....this goes much beyond the naming issue...since 1947, karnataka has always been treated like some piece of trash...inter-state water disputes, border issues,
distribution of food grains or any other commodities during stressful periods...any other goddamn issue..and the recent burning one-the demand for classical status for kannada..on every single occassion we have always been given a raw deal..
it is said that the name change would affect the brandname of bangalore...as far as i know nothing has affected the brandnames of chennai,kolkata,mumbai..they are doing just fine...then why the HELL??? DO these MORONS??? go hysterical in this case???? this issue does not even merit a debate of any sort..it''s a pity that the people of this state don''t understand the importance of regional parties...they seem so blissful sucking up to bjp and congress..look at TN..a 40 member strong contingent of dmk is camping at new-delhi and they indulge in such wonderful arm-twisting that delhi shuts it''s trap and bows to every demand of theirs...we have to
beg,beg and beg to even get basic minimum projects alloted...it may seem selfish but that''s the truth- every individual state government has to squeeze delhi''s BALLS to get things done....look at the food grain distribution pattern..the
south has experienced severe drought during the past few years and every state asked for help from the central treasury..AP,TN and maharashtra got their due share and ap got more than what it asked for..in the intervening period when the dharam singh led coalition government was present and the congress which was and still is at the centre, even then there was a lackadaisical attitude and we were still left with our mouths wide open!!!!! an obese bureaucracy does exist at every level but it is neccessary to fulfil the basic obligations of being the "CENTRAL GOVERNMENT"..and distribution and allocation of resources must be done on a need per se basis.
this stepmotherly attitude cannot and SHOULD not be allowed to go on indefinitely..otherwise we''ll have episodes like the ulfa killings showing up time and again...if not a regional party,we atleast should vouch for the commies(communists) and load our 224 member assembly with an authoritarian government if necessary..so that whenever the "soothing" liberal voices of our great "modern" thinkers and the "cool" youth start murmuring about the need for an open and cosmopolitan kind of culture, we can stuff their mouths with bullets and ask these stray dogs to shut up.next to the north-east i suppose karnataka and orissa come next in terms of "just send them away" kind of approach.you cannot expect "complete" patriotism when they do not even bother about your existence.the little attention and whatever meagre which we get is probably because of the sumptuous and mouth-watering resources bangalore in particular and south karnataka in general has to offer..otherwise even that would have been a dream....
