What I am really concerned now is that even a mighty and popular figure from the sports world is not immune to the dirty but exciting field of politics here in the Philippines. I have read in the newspaper that when Manny arrives from the U.S. he will not be able to attend the party and the
welcome activities prepared by the City of Manila for him. Instead he will be going to the affair to be hosted by the

This despite the tradition of the City of Manila that they always welcome Manny when he arrives from abroad after every fight. The obvious reason maybe is that the current mayor of Manila is Fred Lim who beat Ali Atienza last election and that Pacquiao is very close to the Atienzas. Hmmmm maybe Pacquiao united the Filipinos for a brief time but he also divided Manila because of this.
I forgot that Manny Pacquiao run and lost last elections in his home province. Maybe he is not only a sportsman but also a politician. Almost............
