Politics is a common word but is grossly misunderstood. The word is often taken for granted as if we already know the real
meaning of it, at least we know the meaning as given by Webster or other immortal word experts who have universal books(dictionaries) named after them. Do we realy know what it entails and what are the implications and effects it has on the lives of all the people concerned by choice or not.
Politics in the Philippines has seen its greater days. That is during the heydays of President Magsaysay,Salonga, Manglapus, Ninoy Aquino,Tanada,Rectos( the elder) and a lot more. Its is also a witness and a continuing witness to the degradation of the once nobel profession or is really a noble one and that the
politicians of the old days are more clever and smart?
Where are the values we used to put in a high pedestal and dreamt of emulating and following in our daily lives? Where is the respect we used to give our leaders and politicians? What
happened to DELICADEZA of all our politicians? What happened to the noble trait of our politicians that ones they promised to do something, they will really find ways to do it. What happened to the sworn promise to help the poor, protect the rights of its citizens and the country,to uplift the living conditions in the country. To uphold the laws of the land and most importantly to SERVE the people and not to be served and not to put your personal interest above all.Justice ,where is it? Please give us answers so as not to give us reason to doubt that we are eventually going down the drain.
