Who is posing a bigger danger to the world at this point of time, Ahmadinejad or Musharraf? If you want me to ask this question to President Bush then I withdraw. Since I know the answer. It is Ahmadinejad, Ahmadinejad and Ahmadinejad. I, in fact, know the answer to my supplementary question too, that is how? George Bush has kept his reasons ready, waiting to kill the question eagerly. He has attempted to conveniently universalize his American and more so own reasons, to a pathetical extent and wants every one to buy those. His consultant on the subject, Norman Podhoretz wants us to believe that Iran’s President is like Hitler, aiming to replace the international system with a new order dominated by Iran and ruled by the religio-political culture of Islamofacism. What will you call far-fetched if not this? Even if you wish to give a chance to Podhoretz, you can only say that like any one Ahmadinejad too has the right to dream his dreams.
Look at this recent statement of President Bush, “If you are interested in avoiding World War 111,it seems you like you ought to be interested in preventing Iran from having knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.” It sounds funny and dangerous at the same time. Funny, because it hints at some world war around the corner and dangerous, because the American President is now looking for excuses which he will then try to make up into evidences as he did in his search of WMD in Iraq. Iran definitely has a ‘respectable’ place in my personal list of rouge nations but I am certainly not blind to the more potential danger popping from the doors and windows of its neighbor, Pakistan. President Bush loves to turn these days a Nelson’s eye to this bleeding spot. It has stopped hurting him much since he coercively cut a deal with President Musharraf; the poor guy is literally ‘in the line of fire’ thereafter. For his survival Musharraf ‘sold’ close to 100 of proclaimed terrorists to the US for, of course, bagsful of greenbacks. Eventually, not only he lost control on his home brand of terrorism but also made Talibans and Al-Queda elements also blood thirsty enemies. Pakistan has nuclear know how and someone needs to remind that to George Bush. It also has the dubious record of selling the fissile technology to rogues, in Dr. A. Nadir Khan, now basking in island countries. Nothing is more dangerous than a weakening dictator. Musharraf is one today.
