Whenever I get to think of the Electoral System of the Philippines, I cannot help to be disheartened. We barely do the election in order to have wholehearted & deserving leaders. But what? We still have the good-for-nothing ones. I’m not putting all the blame on the electorate. They, themselves, have their own predicament of exercising such political right. They lack the information concerning the factors to consider in electing righteous candidates. In other words, they are not well-informed. Another thing they woefully experience is the word POVERTY. How could you imagine a person with an empty stomach to make a wise decision? Isn't it ironic to expect a good decision from a starving person? I mean, their situation only justifies their decision!
They are not supposed to be upbraided just because of their naiveness regarding the matter... The liability of this matter, instead, lies within the government. Everything that has something to do with the welfare of the state must begin with the initiative of the government. Thus, they have to educate the people & get rid of poverty first before they
start to wish having a good election! I cannot also reprimand those badly elected officials for they are just the effect of the immaturity of the electorate. Besides, they could not win without the decision of the masses. It is in them that we can evidently notice the decadence of the society... True! The truth hurts... It is heart-breaking to believe that our public officials today are the living testimony of the downfall that lies ahead for us. Isn't it? Now, if we really want to establish an immaculate election, we must undergo first an extreme make-over. The make-over that would eliminate all the blemishes attached to our Electoral System. It is neither achieved in just a single snap of a finger nor in a blink of an eye. It's not the end of the world yet... We still have the residual time to, at least, avoid falling into a bottomless pit. Why not take the process of having to clean up the mess? Why not try to go back to the right track by merely feeding both the mind & stomach of our men? Why not attempt to relinquish the dirt we have been holding of for so many years? After all these BASICS, we won't deal with this subject anymore!
