Your Special issue ("The Truth Gujarat 2002) made a horrifying
reading, Yes, indeed one of the finest in the history of Indian
journalism. Ashish Khetan's breathtaking investigations brought out
the chilling facts in their own words that did the crime. Those truths
brought out yet another answer to the big question—Are human beings
cruel aggressive power-hungry by nature, wolves in sheep's clothing?
Man even after tamed by social laws is often behaving like a jungle
beast. Probably man is the only example of being which kills members
of its own species wantonly. He has "progressed" to such and extent
that killing is now a sophisticated art. The chilling terror of
riots, followed by the ghostly silence of curfew, and then the bitter
aftermath of prejudice and ignorance that leaves thousands of people
homeless and thousands dead. This has been India's nightmare since
independence. As you said in the editorial the so called shining
politicians are only worried about their leadership and power. The
power hungry politicians are only playing the tricks of vote-bank
politics. This is very clear from the inactions of authorities even
after getting many evidences against the guilty. Yes, the chilling
violence is spreading its wings from Gujarat to Kashmir and to the
uttermost part of this country. Violence has grown and spread like
wildfire. In the midst of such blood throttling incidents our
politicians are still on the run to firm their seats of power. How sad
it is the position of the common man among such power hungry
politicians in this greatest democratic country of the world. The
common man is always suffocated in the hands of such dirty politics.
Yet in the midst of this, few men and women have dared to believe that
India would one day be a peaceful country. In the midst of the noise
India Gandhiji and others dreamed is strangely silent, The reports very clearly shows Narendra Modi's black hands behind those genocidal killings. No doubt he acted like a Nazi marauder. He must quit the position at once and he must be punished accordingly. That will be a lesson to such terror emanating politicians. Let the land of Mahatma be proud of his ideologies.
