India''s Top Cop Rakesh Maria
Rakesh Maria, the name
successfully associated with the cracking of the 1993 blast case is the
most
admired top cop who has done complete justice to his duty whatever
position he
had handled so far and has rendered impeccable
service to the citizens
that too
in an honest way in this corrupt world. He deserves all the accolades
he
receives as he has indeed done so far a very great job in his mission
to
vanquish anti-social elements, injustice and crime.
Yet there is something which I would like to express as a
whole and not pinpointing at Rakesh Maria and that is I feel that none
of the
IPS officers have done even a satisfactory job in handling the
traffic department and the best example would be the areas like Maulana Shaukat
Ali
road, Null Bazaar, Bhendi Bazaar etc. where there seems the traffic
rules do
not apply and reminding the residents of this area of their duty
towards the
traffic rules and system would be considered as a sin and not an
advice.
Having said the above, still in a police system that can
be compared to the swamp, a lotus in the form of Rakesh Maria still
survives
and a cop like him will always be held in high esteem not only for his
honesty
but also for his service in protecting the people which he had taken as
an oath
and lived upto it.
