I just read a most interesting piece called Obama or Osama. I intended to leave a written comment then sensed a more
longer reply necessary. The author has raised a most extraordinary good question. That being the actual religious convictions of Barrack
Obama, candidate for
president. This also raises questions about other candidates as well.
For example Mitt Romney has been criticized and scrutinized over his Mormon
background and beliefs. John Kennedy in 1960 got the same treatment for being Catholic.
When will people start listening to the real facts and not those propogated by opposing candidates? Maybe we should start looking at former presidents being capable of being first husband of the land. We must stop merely accepting, as the author so well noted, all that is said.
In the case of Mr. Barrack Obama, his background was good enough to be elected senator. Now he wants to run for president, his name is threatening. He was good enough ro represent a state, but not qualified because of possible ethnic origin to represent our country.
Politicians will say and do anything during campaigns to make themselves look good. And when the primaries are said and done they are bosom buddies again. Making an accusation of any sort distracts us from real issues. The more one spouts of doubt about their opponent''s character the more it says about their own.
Maybe the man needs to say more about his religious background. Perhaps he feels he has said enough and wants to move onto the real issues facing our next president. Whatever the reason, it is time to move on.
