A new nation

Article Abstract by: Arvind28

Original Author: Arvind Nilmadhub
Election time in the United States of America is nearing and we are all witnessing the rise of a new nation.  The way
of thinking of US citizens is changing.  Barack Obama, coined as a descendant of slave, is in the lead to be the "next" President of the United States of America.  Although, his direct opponent, Hillary Clinton, and opposite party candidate, John McCain, have not lost yet, there is a huge upheaval of Obama''s potential as the next "new" president.  "New" refers to the colour of the President.  In the history of the USA, a “white” has always been elected as the most powerful man on earth.
There is another country where we have such politics, the Republic of Mauritius.  This country, lost in the Indian Ocean, a favourite tourist destination for Europeans, South Africans, Asians and Australians has over the years of its independence enjoyed a political stability not seen in the region.  The Prime Minister of this country has been of "hindu" origin for many years until coming into power of a white Prime Minister.  Though Whites being minority in the island, this has shown the courage of a small nation to take hold of such a position.  At present, the current Prime Minister is “hindu” but their is a renewed call from opposition parties to lead the "white" opposition leader back into power.  Only the next general election, scheduled in 2 years in time, will give an answer to that.
Both USA and Mauritius are bound to be examples for many other countries in terms of political stability. Political leaders are bound to have good deal of intelligence, persuasion and “good surroundings” to succeed.  Many times, we find political leaders whose advisors are not up to the expectations or who misguide the leaders.  Politics is all about one thing after all, power, power and power.
