John McCain is the republican candidate. This has been a reality for some weeks now. On the other side of the aisle we have Obama against Clinton, Hilliary not Bill. They are the ony two persons still vying for a position on the democratic ticket. Article after article has come into print doubting the party can and will be united once the smoke clears.
Real unity should come now, not weeks down the road. The person with the most votes and delegates ought to be their candidate. The person with the most superdelegates should be their candidate. And the person with the majority of popular votes should be their candidate. This may not turn out that way. The democratic party is not united! The media speaks volumes about how the two running continue to avoid real issues and cast doubts about their opponent's ability to lead.
When all and said is done they will have one candidate. Whomever that is is still a big question. Hopefully the democrats can find a way to show voters they are truly united like the republicans are. Hopefully they will be able to convince the public that their candidate is really the right person for the job.
There will always be questions whether poeple are voting for Bill or Hilliary. There will always be doubts who will really run the White House if she gets elected. There will some thoughts that perhaps Obama is not experienced enough. The list goes on. The bottom line is people will be watching the democratic party very closely. For their sake they best do the right thing.
