I hastily updated at the Post Office and when I came out the Police had surrounded a vast gathering of protesters all carrying banners .......... STOP THE WAR! in the Middle East! I heard the speaker but the language must have been Arabic as it clearly wasnt English!
I waited my turn and then ventured forth and enquired from the Police Officer as to what was going on
downtown? He replied that it was a Protest March on the
Palestine Side of the Middle East War and that there was another big march also - actively timed in London. The placards displayed pictures and images of children .. in this terrible war who are the victims of this ongoing Middle East Conflict with Arabs and Jews ......... Israeli and Palestinian!
I diverted and returned to my flat as the downtown area was clearly blocked and yesterday I decided not to venture forth ... downtown. The Offficer chatted about Paddy Ashdown ... who is now Lord Ashdown as a possible high profile politician who used to sort out conflicts in Bosnia .. but then .. I commented ... hasnt Paddy retired! Hmm! Probably! Replied the Police Office .. but then he has his position in the House of Lords ......... didnt he do well! I was tuned into BBC and Hannah Ashraway spoke on behalf of Palestine and some members of the Israeli team in London spoke also on the side of Israel .......in every conflict there are two sides of the story so its ......... STOP THE WAR in the Middle East ........... now!
