Ancient Mataram (MEDANG)
Based in JOMBANG EVER AND MADIUN
Based on the map Medang Empire was not familiar with the division of West Java, Central Java and East Java. So it is with the Kingdom Medang center, did not know Java zoning Dutch products. From various sites in the archaeological find experts, center Medang Kingdom moves, both in the Central Java region is now to move into the region of Jombang East Java and Madiun.
Mataram Bhumi is the old name for Yogyakarta and surrounding areas. In this area for the first time in the palace in the Kingdom Medang estimate standing (Rajya Bhumi Medang i Mataram). This name in an inscription found in some instance, the inscription and the inscription Anjukladang Minto. Mataram term then commonly used to name the kingdom as a whole, although not always this kingdom centered there.

According to estimates, Mataram Yogyakarta is located in the area now. Pitu Poh Mamrati and is located in the predicted Kedu. Meanwhile Tamwlang now called the Tembelang, while Watugaluh now called Megaluh, both located in Jombang area. And last of Wwatan palace, now called by the name of Wotan, located in Madison dearah.
Initial establishment of the Kingdom
Inscription on behalf Balitung (Medang Rahyang ri ri tarumuhun Poh Pitu) states clearly that the first king of the Kingdom of Rakai Mataram Medang The Queen Sanjaya. Sanjaya menggeluarkan inscription Canggal year 732, but does not mention clearly what the name of his kingdom. He only announces the existence of another king who ruled the island of Java before him, called the King Sanna.
After the Sanna, the State becomes chaotic, Sanjaya then appeared to be king over his mother''s support, which is Sannaha the sister of King Sanna. Sanna''s name is not on the list of kings Mantyasih inscription version. It may be that he was not king of the Kingdom of Medang. Sanjaya likely similar history of Raden Wijaya (the late founder of the Majapahit Kingdom 13th century) who claimed to be heir to the throne Singhasari Kertanegara of Singhasari king, but ruled an empire of new and different. Sanjaya''s life story at length in the new Parahyangan Carita written hundreds of years after his death around the 16th century.
