changes in the wind

Article Abstract by: mikecahill

Original Author: mike cahill
Call them democrats, republicans, independents, libertians, or any other name, they all have one thing in common. They
each individually possess the inherent skill to change thier votes in the way the winds blow. Fortunately for those of us who really care about government its abuse of power, the majority don''t behave in this ludicrous manner.
This brings us to the much controversial Iraqi War. Countless democrats spoke in favor of doing something in Iraq long before we even began the liberation of the Iraqi people from the iron hand of the Shah. Amongst those making repeated comments in the early and mid 2000''s are Ms. Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Ms. Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry. Their remarks not supported the action of the Bush Adminstration, but in some cases encouraged it.
We now fast forward to time for 2006 elections. The democrats take over the house and senate. They have avowed to stop this insane war and bring our soldiers home. President
Bush is all wrong on his handling of this ridiculous battle we surely can''t win. Does the political wind have to determine how our legislators vote? Is this what we voted them into office for? Will the war take on a new outlook if the republicans take control back in 2008?
The games of politicians often confuse us, even amuse us. Yet now we are talking about lives of servicemen and women who give their lives to defend democracy. A democracry some see it fit to use for thie rown political advantage and gain.
Nothing anywhere resembles a perferct form of government. Each country has its own demons to deal with. It is truly a sad situation though when individuals must pollute our democracy just to become elected. Truly a sad situation indeed.
