America prides itself as the torchbearer of democracy, enforcing tough international regulations to ensure equal opportunities
for political parties in countries all over the world. Ironically, it is a completely different story at home.
The United States has become the world’s least democratic democracy. Big-money influence over the two main parties keeps new parties, new ideas, and new leadership off the ballot, out of the media, and out of the political mainstream. The laws of nature are the orderly principles governing life throughout the physical universe. The knowledge of how to use nature wisely is available, proven and tested through extensive research. There are laws in almost every state in America to keep new parties and independent candidates off the ballot and out of the political debate, and, if you are a new party, make your job as impossible as possible. The obstacles are outrageous. Press outlets are being bought up by huge corporations and turned into media conglomerates. NBC is owned by General Electric, CBS by Westinghouse, ABC by Disney. The two dominant political parties exercise a monopoly over the political press. Traditionally the role of third parties has been to inject new ideas into the political debate, a source that refocus the issues. Abolition of slavery, a woman’s right to vote, and crucial child labour law reform all have come from strong third party movements. The number of signatures required for a new party to get on the ballot in Florida alone exceeds the signature requirements (200 000 per candidate) that a new party would have to collect if he wanted to get on the ballot in all the countries in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zeeland combined. The Republican and Democratic candidates do not have to collect any signatures.
The United States has the most discriminatory election laws of any democracy in the world. Republicans and Democrats have written laws that that grant themselves automatic access to the ballot. On the other hand, a new party must collect more than five million valid signatures. Ballot access involves four steps: 1) deciphering the requirements 2) meeting the requirements 3) preparing for legal fight after you meet the requirements 4) getting geared up to repeat steps one, two and three in the next election. What does
valid mean?In West Virginia
valid means that the signature is determined to be identical to the signature on the voter’s original voter registration form. Voters must swear neither to vote in the next primary election nor to sign any other petition, and they will be prosecuted under penalty of law of they do. About one in three signatures is approved. You need 28, 345 valid signatures, which means that you need to collect nearly 90,000. Republicans and Democrats collects no signatures. In Texas
valid means that you need to read that person a long paragraph that describes his or her liability if he or she does sign your petition. Your job is to find 43,963 Texans and you’ve got only ten weeks to do it. Republicans and Democrats collect no signatures. In New York valid means that signatures must be accompanied by printed names, street addresses, country names, zip codes, congressional district numbers, precinct and ward numbers. Off the top of your head, do you know your precinct and ward number? You have six weeks to go and find 608,981 who do. In Florida valid means 883,143 signatures. There has been no third-party candidate for governor on the ballot in Florida since 1920. Republicans and democrats collect no signatures.
Third parties candidates, usually with scarce resources, are forced to pay anywhere from one to five dollars per signature—valid or invalid. Money decides what ideas you hear about in the political debate. Take a stand against genetic manipulation. Consumers have become sick and even died from eating genetically altered food stuffs already. We can no longer afford to violate laws of nature. Every time act without regard to the underlying intelligence of nature, we harm ourselves and we harm our planet. Put health care back into our disease care system. Modern medicine treats diseases on a superficial level. It shows that our health care system is sick. There’s little emphasis in modern medicine on the body’s own capacity for healing. We need to educate people in such a way that they want to live—and do live—spontaneously in accord with natural law. Over the past three thousand years there have been more than five thousand peace treaties, each of which has lasted an average of nine years. Paper agreements among nations are not a foundation for lasting peace. We need a preventive approach. When stress build up in collective consciousness inevitably it erupts as violence, conflict, and war. Reducing built-up stress in the collective consciousness by producing a physical influence of peace through group meditations is the key. We live in a scientific age and no matter how unusual something may sound, if there is enough scientific evidence to support that it works, we should try it. There has been more evidence on the effects of collective meditation for diffusing social stress and resolving international conflict than any previous approach in the history of the social sciences. If there is something available that works, then we should make it available. We should implement scientifically proven, prevention-oriented, natural-law based programs that solve problems and revitalize the nation without hazardous side effects.
