Scared Kalmadi avoids Parliament
In the wake of crisis through corruption, the Government of India acts as slow as possible, because it knows the culprits are none but its members of the parliament. Suresh Kalmadi has openly threatened the Times Now TV channel to file cases against them concerning defamation; why is he scared to attend the parliament. He is a MP of the congress party from Pune and has the opportunity to clear his name on the floor of the parliament by answering the questions of the opposition members. The Government too is not keen to force him to be in the parliament in the ongoing session. On one hand, the government is giving clean chit to its ministers MS Gill, Jaipal Reddy, and Shiela Dixit in the matters concerning Common Wealth Games; and one the other, it is keeping silent on Suresh Kalmadi. This shows the government’s ill intention of saving him from the corrupt allegations against him. The government must have gone through the records and documents for freeing its ministers from the corruption allegations, otherwise how could it give clean chit to these ministers. In the process it must have known too that Kalmadi has done intensely wrong dealings to make money either directly or indirectly. This is good enough to presume Kalmadi’s wrong doings in the CWG deals with various supplying agencies.
Congress members of the parliament are shying away to reply the question on Kalmadi leaving the onus on the government, which is constituted by mostly congress members. In the monsoon session of parliament this matter would come for discussion and Kalmadi would be blamed right and left by the members of the opposition parties. Who would reply for Kalmadi if he is not present in the house? If accusations against Kalmadi are not defended in the floor of the house, then it would be quite clear about his involvement in the financial irregularities. Some top ranking heads have been removed from their posts due to corruption allegations; Kalmadi being the topmost man in CWG should be made accountable on all corruption charges. He has acted foolishly while defending the organizing and other committees by showing a manipulated email for which he has been reprimanded by the foreign minister SM Krishna. His continuation in the topmost post has baffled us.
