Gaddafi's son warns of civil war in Libya
Which dictator wants leave the power and easy wealth under the pressure of the people of the country? The answer would be hundred percent negative throughout the world. Therefore Moammar Gaddafi cannot be any different from other dictators. His son is doing the obvious choice to divert the attention of the people, who after 42 years realized that their country is being looted by one family header by Moammar Gaddafi. Seif al-Islam Gaddafi is backing his father that is the only option he has to keep the inflow of money into his coffer along with his father and other family members. In a late night speech on state television in the wee hours of Monday (21.2.11), he cautioned the people of civil war and the disaster of burning oil well due to severe protests throughout the country.
Only six days of protests we have seen and that is likely to continue till the time the people’s legitimate demand of democracy is established in the country. Gaddafi could manage to hold his people for over four decades from opening their mouths against him; but the new world order that has started for quite sometimes has reached the soil of Libya due to the obvious smell of revolution across the border in Egypt. Saddam Hussein had to bow down under the pressure of the people in about three week’s time and now we have to wait how long this treacherous dictator in Libya survives. Serif wanted to send the message to the people that Libya is different than countries like Egypt and Tunisia, where too the seeds of revolution are blooming in the beginning stage. Of course, Libya is different in the sense that his father is more inhuman that Hosni Mubarak that the history says. ‘The army is with his father’ that is his argument in supporting his father, which is once again to be seen as the desperate attempt of the Gaddafi family for restrain the people from continuing their vehement protests against his father. He refused to accept the death figure of 174 so far that came from the Human Rights Watch, and utter the figure less than half of that figure. This means he thinks killing 84 innocent people is ok, not 174 people. Why is he trying in vain by bringing useless points suppressing his own fellow countrymen? He should accept the fact that each person has the same right on the country’s natural wealth as he and his father has. When the time nears the end every dictator offers reform programs and this young Gaddafi too did not forget this point while delivering his speech. Forty two years you did not think of reform and all of a sudden you emphasize this point; what it shows Mr. Serif? Serif must know that any amount of false assurances would be enough now, as the people waited for more than the time to see positive results from your father’s administration; but in vain. So, be prepared to do the same as all dictators do in the event of losing power that to flee the country in a safe haven somewhere in the world.
