Muslims rally in NY, say
we’re also Americans
The
United States of America is more than vigilant after the 9/11 terrorist attack
and it does whatever is needed to curb further terrorist attacks. The police
and other agencies responsible for keeping the country safe from terrorist
attacks have achieved success in this respect and they would not budge from
their controlling activities going on for more than a decade. If any community
or religion is feeling bad due to police activities, that is their problem, and
they should accept it for the larger benefit of the people of the country.
The
protest rally by hundreds of Muslims ending at the Manhattan police station was
carried out for the sole purpose of stopping police infiltration in the Mosques
and other Muslim inhabitant areas. Whether their demand is legitimate or not
would be deliberated by the authorities, but one thing is clear that the safety
of the people in general comes first than anything else in a country. It is not
that only Muslims are targeted in that country after the worst terrorist
attack; all communities have faced similar checking sometimes. Talib Abdul-Rashid,
the Imam of a mosque, thinks that the Muslims in America are not treated as true
nationals are not right. His statement rather is a flashing point to invite
conflict unnecessarily. The American Government is not punishing anybody on
flimsy ground; therefore the question of biasness does not arise at all. NYPD should stick to the principle of tackling
bad elements for maintaining a trouble-free country.
