Right up your street .... Turkish Lawyers .... Violence against women and yesterday on BBC Radio the
discussion was on violence against young women and what to do in the event of attack, rape,
sexual harrassment. The outcome - tell the Police but I suppose the need to contact the Police
is because of sex crimes that have been committed so how to prevent it is the key question.
Not taking it as the norm ... is one way to prevent it
Not taking it in your stride
Fighting to defend your life
Not moving into a closed society
Those are some of the notions put forward on BBC Radio, ut it is obviously a world experience
and therefore everyone is posting material from as faraway as Turkey! And the Women Lawyers
are involved so I take it one is practically redundant with such high priority afforded to these volatile
and conversational women on the subject of sex violence against women.
For victims it is hard to throw off the mantle of experience and that's true in any walk of life,
so the tell tale signs are hard to cover according to the participants but the need to get over it
must surely be a priority and life a new life if the violence was so bad and so damaging.
However, its a fact of life so drawing attention to Violence against Women is now given
Upfront publicity from London to Istanbul ................ take care!
