Pakistan bombing "a heinous crime" -- U.N. chief
The world efforts could not change anything in Pakistan,
the frequency of attacks have come down a little bit. On the ground, the basics remain unchanged, and it will take momentum in every available opportunity. The result is loss of innocent lives of all nationals working in Pakistan for the benefit of that country. US along with other friendly countries need to think differently to stop this menace for good, if not reduce it to bare minimum. Pakistan – Afghanistan axis is volatile for a long time and the situation did not improve despite having democratic governments in both the countries.
The secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon has denounced the attack strongly, which is natural and expected. The terrorist groups have no conscience at all; the attack on UN Group proves. The World Food Program (WFP), a wing of the UN has office in Islamabad, and working for the betterment of that country. If its personnel are not spared even, then the situation is grave at any count. The suicide bomb attack on that office killed four staff of WFP and one outsider. Out of these four, three are
Pakistani nationals and one Iraqi named Botan Ahmed Ali. Three Pakistani nationals were identified as Abid Rehman, financial assistant, and two females; one Gulrukh Tahir, receptionist, and Farzana Barkat, office assistant.
WFP is working in Pakistan for providing food assistance to ten million Pakistanis, out of which 2 millions are displaced subjects of Swat Valley violence perpetuated by the Pakistani Taliban, informed Josette Sheeran, the Executive Director of WFP. He has honored these killed persons as Humanitarian Heroes.
What is the use of all these efforts if the ground reality is not improved? Billions of dollar aid goes to Pakistan for its survival. The government is not serious in true sense to clip the wings of the terrorist groups; as a result, they maintain the status-quo of spreading violence all over the country.
