8 bodies in 3 days: Goa cops fear killer on prowl
Goa is under grip of tension since eight dead bodies
have been recovered from various places in the state. The police is not in apposition to say anything except that the dead bodies seems to be drowned prima facie until post mortem report is available.
The scenic Goa surrounded by sea is a sought after place for the tourists from the country as well as abroad. In the last three days from Monday, police first found four charred bodies of women from four different places, for which no clue could be established. These four bodies were found on Monday and Tuesday. Before coming out of the mystery, another four bodies have been found on Wednesday making the series of dead bodies more mysterious. Out of these four dead bodies, there are a seven-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl. Rest two is a woman around 35 years of age and a man of about 50 years of age.
Whether all the dead bodies are linked or not is not sure, police think. They are not ruling out any possibility until the post mortem report is in hand. There was a case of serial killer in Goa in the past, which killed 16 young women over several years before he was arrested. That is why, the police is over cautious to reach any presumption without proper investigation, informed SP Atmaram Deshpande. So many dead bodies in quick succession point the needle to the act of murder.
