Australian government has failed racial attack on Indians in that country. Incident after incident is happening, sometimes frequent and sometimes-in gap of days. Despite the government’s positive stand on the racial attack, the ground reality has not changed, which is a matter of concern. The attackers haven’t got any strong message through government action, and that is the added inspiration of the attackers.
The latest attack is on the 22-year Sikh youth, who was beaten and humiliated without any provocation. No other identity of the youth is furnished in the news report. In the wee hours of the day, the attack was perpetuated meaning that those people are on the look out for vulnerable and helpless Indians. The report did mention that three of the five men group tried to stop the assault, but in vain. In addition, the aged bus driver of 60 and a passenger too intervened to save the Indian youth, and they too failed. The incident happened near the Epping railway station in Cooper Street at past midnight. The youths are all late teenagers, The Age informed. The Indian man got injuries, but not that serious that needs medical attention.
We can recall that attacks are unabatedly going on in recent months. From June to August this year, about 30 students were attacked, and in some cases, injuries were serious.
Australian government’s lazy approach could not awake Indian government, and the benefits go to the attackers.
