Islamic law showed that Riba (usury) is prohibit in Islamic law at daily activity in community and religion. Usury can makes cleavage. In the holy Qur’an explained that the agent of usury will get poignant torture in the world and the day after.
As moslem its enough for us to know, usury is big sin. Al-Qur’an describing the agent of usury with shameful description, they were described such as person beaten by satan then they were affected crazy disease that attacked their brain and their body.
The bloomer activity isn’t reach level of shameful, so usury more shameful than bloomer activity at the past time. Do you know ? Usury is the most threatening than another activity of ignored. Islamic law viewed Usury is the biggest sin among another sin. It’s due to usury contain activity of stingy, egoistic, greedy and it as like as bad thing.
To make compare, it’s different with Shodaqoh (giving). Shodaqoh is give some property, it show benignity, to make clear our property and secreting of own self and to help another, especially poor people. Shodaqoh is give the property without ask replacement or not hope something.
Different with usury, it is prohibited in Islamic law because it addition substances of forbidden from the aspect of debtors or their family because they must pay more than account of their loan. They don’t care are they fortune or collapse. They don’t care are the properties is used to their family’s need.
So, it isn’t amazed if Islamic forbid usury , because it is a big sin and ignored from social and religions view. And to remember the agent of usury to the disunion (فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا فَأْذَنُوا بِحَرْبٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَإِنْ تُبْتُمْ فَلَكُمْ رُءُوسُ أَمْوَالِكُمْ لا تَظْلِمُونَ وَلا تُظْلَمُونَ
(And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from allah and his messengers…..al baqarah 279 ) and the disaster or something have same meaning with it which caused by usury. There are 3 point of view about disadvantages of usury :
1. From personal view
2. From social view
3. From economic view
The disadvantages of usury from personal view, it can appear egoistic soul and this disadvantages isn’t known by other people except of their self. Usury lose the solidarity and the meaning of pity in community be low, and make broken off relationship among other. Usury as like as absorb the people’s blood. There isn’t noble soul in their self but it’s only greedy.
Whereas from social view, usury appear fury among community and make level in social community. The property should be used to help another. However, usury can appear jealousy and aversion, broke affection principle, and it doesn’t pay attention in Human relationship “Ukhuwah Insaniyah”. So the agent of usury will not get aversion from people and they will not be respected by other people.
Whereas from Economic view, usury can divide people into 2 levels, first one is people who live in luxury life style. And the second one is the people who live in poverty, they have to work hardly. And usury is the one of very bad thing.
