Litigation and Implications for the Legal Profession

Article Abstract by: Edoziogo

Original Author: Edoziogo
Litigation involves the process of seeking legal redress in a court of competent jurisdic-
tion.Personalities
the world over normally resort to litigation whenever they feel aggrieved.
But does frequent litigation spell doom for the legal profession? Why can''t the matter be
resolved out of court ? Lawyers are mainly engaged when there is a motley of litigants. It is
wrong to say that frequent litigation spells doom for the legal profession. In fact lawyers'' profits
are calculated on the basis of court appearances. Therefore resolving matters out of court
may not be in  the best interest of the legal profession.Due process of carriage of justice is strictly followed in courts.
This will ensure justice for all and for each party involved in any dispute.Recourse to
litigation becomes the best method of obtaining justice in any court of competent jurisdic-
tion. This will make for the smooth running of society. It is therefore noteworthy that litigation
is in the overall interest of the legal profession. To avoid miscarriage of justice, let matters of
dispute be taken to court and let all the necessary legal instruments be applied to make
sure that justice is done on all aspects of the dispute.
