Todos os homens são iguais...mesmo as mulheres

Book Review by: anitasoares

Original Author: Isabelle Alonso
This abstract was translated from Todos os Homens são iguais… mesmo as Mulheres
In this small book, with 102 pages, edited by Editorial Notícias, Isabelle Alonso, director of a financial office and writer,
analizes the situation of women in France and, as we easily see, in the European Union. It is true that in France, as in the other european countries, women vote and belong to the world market, but have they in fact achieved the goals for which their mothers and grandmothers fought? Words like feminism and sexism are no longer a part of the political conversations, admitting - or pretending to admit - that the first is a movement of beldames surpassed by history, and the second something which disappeared completely in the european societies of the XXI century. And, therefore, under the plain surface of the society which seems to worry about women, starting with politicians, men, elected to represent them, what is in fact happening? How many women are presidents or belong to administration councils in big european countries? How many women sit in the national or european parliament? Why are women in europe more affected by unemployment? Why are extremely high the numbers of domestic violence? «All men are equal...even women», a book to read and think. A concept to retain: parity.
