I hereby would like to announce, for the first time in history Penang has 2 Deputy Chief Ministers.
Just morning Penang''s new Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng, had appointed 2 deputites in assisting him in governing the Penang state. Deputy Chief Minister (1) is PKR''s Penanti state assembly person Mohd Fairus Khairuddin whereas Deputy Chief Minister (2) goes to DAP’s Perai representative P Ramasamy. Another history made is for the first time in history there is an Indian representative in a higher position in the government.
I was very happy with this decision and had also made speculations on this result. As DAP promises to be a party for all indeed have done their job well even though in these few early days after taking over Penang.
Personally I feel that all states MUST do the same as well. This is indeed imperative to forge a stronger united relationship between Malays, Chinese as well as Indians.
Sad to say, I am also very disappointed with the Barisan Nasional. After governing Malaysia for 50 years, they had never come up with what Lim Guan Eng had proposed(all 3 races have their representation as Chief Minister & its deputies). I remembered one case which happen last year where an UMNO member fight for the post of a Chief Minister in Penang with Dr Koh Tsu Kun.
He said that Penang had beed under a Chinese Chief Minister and would like to regain Malay standing in Penang as there were relatively fewer Malays in Penang. That act was indeed immature. I personally feel that that particular UMNO leader is indeed very selfish and unthoughtful.
Before I end I would like to give you guys a mind blogging question.
Do you all think that the wise decision made by Chief Minister,Lim Guan Eng, would be made by Barisan Nasional if they had won majority in state seats?Humbly composed by,
