Though defeat seems to be imminent, Hillary Rodham Clinton continues to hope for a miracle. The results from North Carolina and Indiana have tilted the odds in favor of Barack Obama. George McGovern, former South Dakota Senator, and a senior
Democratic Party leader, requested Clinton to accept the mathematical implications, and step down gracefully. McGovern was a staunch supporter of Clinton until recently. Soon it will be the turn of superdelegates to disclose their favorites. In the meanwhile, Clinton has increased her expenditure on ad campaigns. Obama spent $42 million on ads for primary elections in Indiana and North Carolina, against Clinton's meagre budget of approximately $9 million. Results tell it all. Clinton is a senator from New York, and Obama is a senator from Illinois. The two are engaged in a bitter race to represent Democratic party in the 2009 Presidential elections.
