Team Sarah (http://www.teamsarah.org/) is a social network with 58,000 members which supported Alaska governor Sarah
Palin in her race for the vice-presidency, and now supports her as a possible presidential candidate in 2012. The Team Sarah site allows members to post videos and pictures, to participate in discussions and post to their blog, and to join a highly diverse number of sub-groups.
The sub-groups give an interesting portrait of the membership of the site. There are state-specific sites for those from the 50 US states, as well as a few groups for non-US fans of
Sarah Palin. There are religious sub-groups of Christians, Jews, Muslims and Neopagans for Sarah. There are sub-groups for cat lovers and dog lovers, for hunters and gun owners, for prolife people and for prochoice. There are groups for Gay and Lesbian supporters of Sarah Palin, and for the parents of special needs children.
The wide variety of videos available on the site turn it into a news network of Sarah Palin related news. There are constantly new additions and the person interested in Sarah Palin would do well to check daily to see if there is new material to be viewed.
The site is very action-oriented, with members constantly giving information on what one can do to support the cause. One of the sub-groups is dedicated to people who resolve to do something to support Sarah Palin every day.
In short, Team Sarah illustrates the broad diversity of the people who have been inspired by the candidacy of Sarah Palin. Even now that the election is over and Mrs Palin sadly did not win, the site remains very active. The members of Team Sarah have by no means given up.
