Though it may sound fundamentalist, but somewhere Raj Thackeray says the truth. His thinking is correct to some extent, but
I strongly disagree with his actions. The Marathi Manoos is just too timid to come out and speak in open on this issue. But I do feel that this time he actually fought for the normal, struggling middle class, who aimed and were capable of appearing for the railway exams. According to my findings our respectable railway minister Mr Lalu Prasad Yadav made sure only Biharis attend the exams. This angered and agitated ,passionate marathis, who felt deceived as they were not made part of this exam ,even though it was conducted in their homeland.
Handling the Marathi manoos issue step by step.
Raj Thackeray is dead against people fleeing from different parts of country and settling in Mumbai, as this city is seen as a land of
opportunities. The other main reason for the attraction of this city is lack of opportunities in other parts of the country. We should not forget that though India is one ,but there are many states where the
natives speak different languages instead of their national language. Show me one state where the rights of the natives are not protected.
Take for example Chennai. The boards displayed on the shops are in Tamil. Autowalahs, vegetable vendors ..etc just don’t respond ,if a question is asked in HINDI (our national language). So, if a common man happens to stay there for long , he will have to be adept at the local language , else converse in a foreign language (English). No one questions this aspect of their behavior??.
There will be few people who will argue saying that Mumbai is a metropolitan city and thus any one could inhabit it . Yes, because this city has been made capable of absorbing people. Politicians ,who can’t attract industries and generate job opportunities, just leave no choice for their natives to look for a livelihood somewhere else, in some other state. Take the latest case of Mamta Banerjee. Though Kolkata is perceived to be a metropolitan city ,it is no- where near it. Industries do come and visit the state ,but due to political vested interests it becomes an “opportunity lost” for the natives. No one inherently wants to leave his native place and migrate. Due to lack of opportunities they are forced to take this decision. When they do take this step , and settle in Mumbai, they do not feel the ownership for this city, the city which is providing them bread and butter and to their family back home. Some where they , know that after few years they have to return back to their home land. So , the question is ”Mumbai hi zyadyatar desh ka pet kyon bhare? “ Atleast some sort of preference should be give to localities for semi & unskilled jobs.
The time has come to unburden the load from Mumbai as practically also, it has become overcrowded. It is very surprising to know that there is less of the Marathi speaking clan left in Mumbai ,as compared to people from other languages. Gradually Mumbai as a city has lost its ownership.
Which metro is in this sad plight??? Delhi is dominated by Punjabis, and north Indians, Kolkata off course with Bengalis, Chennai with Tamilians and Bangalore with Kannadigas , then why Mumbai not with Marathis????
Development of the country as a whole happens when all the states work for progress and not just one state bears the brunt of their failures .
