On 19 December 2008
presentation of the books “Religions in Georgia” and “Ethnics in Georgia” was held in the Tbilisi History
Museum “Karvasla”.
The books were produced in the framework of the project “Capacity Building of the Public Defender’s Office in Georgia” implemented by the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI), with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
The event also hosted an exhibition of photos prepared for the
publications.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, governmental agencies and NGOs, religious and ethnic groups existing in Georgia attended the event.
Public Defender of Georgia Mr. Sozar Subari, UNDP Georgia Programme Analyst Ms. Natia Cherkezishvili, Senior Expert of the Tolerance Centre Mr. Beka Mindiashvili and editors of the publications Mr. Merab Basialia and Mr. Zurab Kiknadze made speeches at the
presentation.
The publications “Religions in Georgia” and “Ethnics in Georgia” were handed out to the invited guests.
