Uddhav toes father's line, blames Marathis

This humiliating defeat of the Shiv-Sena BJP alliance
in the recently held assembly polls of Maharashtra is not an unexpected one. They lost not because the ruling alliance’s performance was extraordinary, but because the political equation in the state has changed with the evolvement of the new party MNS. If SS-BJP alliance does not understand or do not want to understand this change, then it is them to suffer the most.
Uddhav’s uttering is self consolation as well as a positive message to demoralized party workers that might incline towards MNS, the new formation headed by his first cousin Raj Thackray. The parliamentary election earlier in this year was the first acid test for MNS, and it has shown beyond doubt how Marathis jumped support from SS to MNS enmasse. Shiv-Sena did not learn a lesson from that as they took it as an aberration. Now that the party has been reduced to a level of indigestion, both the father and son are singing in the same tune to manage the after shock of the defeat.
The opportunity will go out of hand completely if Shiv Sena does not think differently to tackle the MNS’ growing popularity among the local people of Maharashtra.
The charisma of Bal Thackray is absent in Uddhav Thackray. No qualm over the fact that he good and calm, but that is not going to make him successful in the dirty politics of Maharashtra. Taunting Raj indirectly is another aspect that might go against him as far as Marathi manush is concerned. He has named Subhas Desai as the opposition leader in the assembly, who is not heard that frequently in the political circle before. Supporting his father for the editorial that appeared in the party’s mouthpiece Saamna, he intends to fight the ongoing battle with new momentum, he said.
Shiv Sena’s main rival in Maharashtra is congress, he accepts. His rival is the beneficiary of the fight between the two cousin brothers, he is not ready to accept that is the irony.
