30 Years Release of Papers Relating to Margaret Thatcher

Website Summary   by:SM THOMPSON
ª

Guardian UK starts up with 30 Years and the Release of Papers reveal .. Thatcher's Fury .. the Grocer's daughter in power and a first woman ever as Prime Minister of the UK is in power .. Thatcher was known as "The Iron Lady" and the phrase came about around the time Thatcher visited Alexei Kosygin of the Soviet ... Russia.

There is an interesting side to all the revelations of Thatcher's Cabinet .. and links with Geoffrey Howe and the news relating to him and other members of her Cabinet. But the amusing side of all these revelations according to Guardian UK Online is that Thatcher showed her anger and annoyance and she wrote in the margins . did she scribble perhaps .. her comments on the whole situation during Thatcher's time as the first Prime Minister (woman) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland.

However, on the subject of The Boat People i.e. The large numbers of Vietnamese fleeing over to the UK  -Thatcher was seen to be "racist" in her reception of them here in the UK.  I taught a Vienamese student and she had absolutely no English of the respectable kind at all so I do hope I had some positive influence on this Vietnamese student .. fingers crossed. Or in the case of Thatcher I believe the PM would have had some positive results here in the UK on the subject of educating the Vietnamese in England!

Apparently the Japanese felt Margaret Thatcher PM should have "karate ladies" to accompany her but this was not the case and she was described as a woman "per se!"  Nice work from Guardian UK Online ...
