Thomas Jefferson said, “If a nation expects
to be ignorant and free … it expects what never was and never will
be.” The Presidential
election of 2008 will be seen as the most
important since the election of George Washington after the war for America’s independence. This election will for the first time will
present the citizenry with a choice of whether this will republic rushes into
socialism, as with the democrats, or continue a asinine military intervention
policy, costing the American people blood and the US economy trillions, that
will destroy us as it did Rome, whether we will become a nation of squabbling
nationalities, or whether this republic remains a free, prosperous, and
sovereigntly independent nations united.
But, the American people are distracted by issues of what the ethnicity,
what the gender, what the age, or party affiliation of the Presidential
Candidates is rather than which can best lead this country as it was intended - as
a free, sovereign, and prosperous republic.
