Clinton and an Al Gore combination is no more a matter of choice, but an imperative!… (TSI October 22- 28 2007) brought out a vital point in relation to Al Gore and his mission on environment and the great calamity—the global warming. As you said a Hillary Al Gore combination is an imperative and can make a tremendous achievement in this area. The present alarming high rate of gas emission is a great threat to the humanity. It is high time that we need to think seriously for a Great New Deal. If we go at this rate the level increases and that will be a great disaster to the earth''s species as well as human. We must do something solid and serious to curtail the global warming. The trees are an integral part of human race and can play a vital role in curtailing the gas emission. But sad to say that, these days even the civic authorities are mercilessly cutting down trees in the name of development. Unfortunately, many do not know the consequences they are causing due to these negligent activities. The massacre of trees means putting an axe to the very existence of human race. The continuous felling of trees will cause irreparable damage to the already perishing flora and fauna of our nation. The need of the hour is to carefully plan and felling of trees. It is more profitable to leave a tree standing than fell it. Let the people who mercilessly cut the trees make note the great danger they are causing, and let them plant yet another sapling in lieu of it. Planting of sapling through primary school to the college level will make a big difference to this. Let us promote awareness programs in school and university levels on global warming.
