World faces a worrying phenomenon. Along with the development and modernization process that seeks to improve people's living standards, there is also the collapse of human values.

In many countries, the collapse of moral and humanitarian values, raises many issues such as drug abuse, loss of respect for parents and seniors, free association and crime among juveniles and other social ills.

As a country that is hard to hunt the status of a developed country, Malaysia is no exception to face the problem. Not only that but we are also facing other problems related to the issue of racial integration, unity and nation building.

No day passes without media reports on social problems and juvenile crime, including school students.

That some crimes are unjust and unacceptable to a sensible mind. This raises the question, what is happening in our society? Where are we mistaken?

Easy way is to take the attitude of complacency and consider the cases is only temporary. Many are hoping for a temporary imbalance that would pass and life will return to normal.

But the reality is that crime still occurs and persists. Therefore, we have no choice, but finding the causes of crime. Next we need to find ways to address them.

If the increase in crime is that we need to incur costs for development, it becomes our duty to address the negative aspects of this development.

Recently, the country was shocked by some criminal cases such as rape, sodomy and murder. More sad that schools are helpless to defend themselves also become victims. Violence is not reflective of our culture and so we must try to contain it.

It is now time for the government and all citizens regardless of race to jointly combat crime. Most important to also identify the causes of crime, particularly in the form of violence.

We need to deal with this violent culture as a whole because it had begun spreading in the community.

Violent acts have become daily fare for young people and children. Violence, feelings of revenge and brutality have become the most common items embedded in the film, let alone through a satellite television network.

This acts as the audience is indeed quite appealing. Cartoon series that became a favorite of children was also included a violent action.

Thus, the tendency and influence of the elements of terrorism be addressed if we are serious about tackling this problem.

How we will handle this situation? I think we need a massive program that seeks to inculcate moral values among all levels of society, especially among youth and adolescents.

Values such as obedience to parents, respect for the elderly, patience, understanding and others are not only taught in a formal classroom.

It can also be applied through other media such as music drama that will make our young generation to think about the value of humanity and its importance in creating confidence and self respect. In this case, schools may try to implement these values through the use of drama and song.

There are two main objectives. The first is to assist countries in addressing the moral values by sending a strong message to the younger generation and the second is to address the problem of racial polarization to encourage participation from students of all races.

Focusing on humanitarian values will help in dealing with social problems in our society due to moral decay.

Purely humanitarian values with strong family ties is the key to build peace, stability and prosperity. In dealing with various social problems, the needs of humanity and the strength of family ties has become increasingly high.

In combating these social problems, law enforcement, though important, is insufficient. We must address this phenomenon with greater efforts to promote awareness about the importance of humanitarian values as a pro-active action for the good of our society in the interests of the country's future
