When you read the story of Noah in the bible, you might catch yourself thinking that he had it easy. After all, it seems like he had no trouble hearing God's word and doing it. God instructed him to build a Ark for him, and his family , because he want to destroy the rest of the world , due to the "wickedness of man" .
Remember that we know the outcome of the story and can therefore make the conclusion that he didn't even had to think for himself he just followed orders and everything worked out for him.
But surely Noah had to process Gods instructions internally and struggle with his own free will and plans for his life. How did he dealt with the ridicule of people when he build a Ark without ever seen water before?
He had to bring everyhting in line with how he saw his world, and what he knew of God.
The key is ,that the bible says : "Noah was blameless among the people of his time , and Noah did everything as God commanded"
How do you do it in our world today ? There are such a saturated level of knowledge on anything you can imagine, a high premium to be a individualist and a go getter. To think for yourself and to be a self made man.
How do you make the big choices concerning your work , family and friends?
It start by having a vision of where you want to be, that goes further than the end of this life.
A descision to know God and to let his will become your will.
A binocular are a pair of identical telescopes mounted side-by-side and aligned to point accurately in the same direction, allowing the viewer to use both eyes (binocular vision) when viewing distant objects. It is important that the two telescopes in binoculars are aligned in parallel to produce a single circular image.
Similiarly the world represents one telescope, and knowledge of God the other.Only when
both are alligned, will you see the same clear picture on the questions in your life ,that Noah had.
