Eat This Book

Book Review   by:Lysa Davis     Original Author: Tyler Florence
ª

Tyler Florence is one of my favorite Food Network Chefs. In this book, Tyler offers cooking with global fresh flavors and boy does he deliver! There are so many different cultural foods explored. He calls it a ''passport of cooking experiences'' and that''s exactly what it is as you will feel transported to many different regions of the world.

The photos are so beautifully done and very mouth watering. He divides the book up into sections aptly titled devouring, consuming, tasting, savoring and lick the plate clean. He teaches you to set up a pantry that you can actually cook from, make mayonnaises and sauces that you wouldn''t normally think to do but when you see how easy it is, you''ll want to attempt it. He even teaches you how to make your own fresh spice mixes.
You''ll be able to create dishes for last minute gatherings, weeknight suppers, seasonal favorites and irresistible desserts. You''ll look like a pro without all the fuss. The recipes are manageable and range in tastes from Chinese, Thai, Italian, Greek, Latin, American and French flavors.
The book is fun and enlightening at the same time and you won''t be able to wait to try a recipe or two. Tyler turns this book into a form of art and it is a cooking resource you will surely use often. Let me end by quoting Mario Batali''s words on the back of the book, "...This book makes cooking at home as easy as take-out and twice as tasty." He couldn''t have said it better.
