Shortlisted by Unitedpress: Congratulations!

Personal Experience Review   by:SM THOMPSON
ª

Shortlisting is once again in the news and there are those who write back to say they are not
shortlisting one has not been shortlisted and then again I am reminded I was short listed
by United Press London last year; the outcome is similar to that of soup as recently I
was in the local Tescos Store and I picked up a Can of Tomato Soup the Tesco Brand label
and I read on the label that this soup has been shortlisted and by a prominent team of
experts from The Grocer. So I suppose it is hardly surprising that the Soup Production
Team are keen on short listing since the rest of the groups of teachers or experts or
writers, novelists, are referred to in the Media as "short listed" and then there is a school
of listings that write about long listing which seems a little bit of mickey taking is alright
providing the audience, the bankers, and the readers do not take offence.

However, as One of these Warrior Authors I was shortlisted and readers ask me what
happens next and the story goes that the selectors choose someone else to win
the prize and from that point on that person is deemed forever at the top irrespective
of changes to the agenda, best selling, making world history and even being voted IN
which I was recently here in Southampton.

Oddly enough I have read the comments of many famous writers and they have often
been tinged with regret at the shortlisting they have experienced and put to the test
they are with experience neither disappointed or cheated and have learnt to take
this dig in the back as run of the mill! So I suppose they were called upon to say
Thanks for the shortlisting mate and all the best to the winner and see you at the
next round of the next fight for the Top of the List: Congratulations on the
short listing then seems to be the order of the day ............ short listing pays up
and votes count here where we are in the UK:
