May Day here in the UK was wet and windy to begin with but by early afternoon the weather had improved
and I took a busride downtown and had lunch at Wetherspoons Bar. For a moment I thought I was followed
as the person on the bus who appeared at the table beside me but he quickly downed a drink and disappeared
whereas I proceeded to eat my baked potato and chilli with a glass of wine and then I promptly
disappeared ... ..... the bar was busy and the streets were full of people walking along the dry
pavements whereas earlier the pavements were wet and slippy by now everything was dried out ..
everything was fine.
I strolled towards the Park but in the light of recent torrential rain decided to catch the bus back home
when my attention was drawn to a hullaballoo across the street near the Park. Several Youths had
arrived and were in a row and the row continued for sometime as I waited for the bus as there wasnt
another bus for another half an hour I continued to pay attention to the row with the Youths. By this
time the row had erupted into a mini fight and then a major one and a Squad Car drew up at the side
of the pavement and several Police Officers got out ... at this point I noticed that one of the Youths
was stretched out on the pavement and I hadnt noticed how he got there as the Squad Car blocked
my line of vision.
However, in a matter of minutes, the Youths were arrested and jammed into the back of a Police Van
which was also parked at the side of the pavement and the whole scene disappeared just as it had
begun.
My bus on this Bank Holiday of May Day never did arrive on time and it was about a few minutes late
so I was grateful to board it and return back to my flat as there was absolutely no one waiting but
myself and the May Day Commotion ended as it had begun ..... hard work pays UP!
