Turkish Intelligence:

Article Review   by:SM THOMPSON

Turkish Digest blogged announced Turkish Intelligence are recruiting specialists in languages of Armenian: Arabic: Hebrew: Persian and applications must come from Turkey:

It reminds one of my poem ARABIA which centres on the notion of Saudi Arabia but I exclude Saudi from it so the Arabia is certainly a link with the Arabic culture.

However, there is another more pressing link wiith Shakespeare or with modern writers such as myself who have coined the phrase and the readership believe its connected with "all the perfumes of arabia" from shakespeare Plays is what its all about.

But poems such as mine have a wider appeal than they are given credit for and its application perhaps would get our students of English in Turkey especially in Istanbul towards an objective of getting into these sought after appointments these high status jobs as afterall the poet is the master of all these languages and the poet lies baffled in his or her own rhetoric and its not a block at all should we take an international approach to interpretation but a bridge linking us with a diverse understanding of language culture and spoken and written languages.

The emphasis on understanding comes late in this author's career as we in the world of educational theatre script a lot and therefore its understood that as experts in English Theatre we are capable of progressing into foreign languages through the process of learning theatre skills and applying improvision and rehearsal is an adjacent skill much in demand at present!

I am initially surprised somewhat as I have always attributed these unique skills to the great writers of our past and those of the present so it is indeed an honour to join them in a bid to work and live and die with one's boots on so to speak: However its a first for me to include these languages in my writing and it is a pleasure!
