Sexy Partner Dancing

Website Review by: Jayfo

If you want to learn a stylish and sexy partner dance that can be danced to all types of music you must have a look at Ceroc
dancing taught at the Nuroc Dance Company - www.nuroc.com.au
Charles and Michelle, the owners of the company are unique and the combination of their skills is what makes Nuroc Dance Company a winner. They are both young and physically attractive which is visually pleasing but doesn’t guarantee a successful business. What does is the fact that they are motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated, fresh and dynamic. Both also have the necessary people-skills to run dancing classes. They are genuinely friendly and patient with the beginner dancer as well as providing challenging workshops and routines for the more experienced dancer. People who attend Nuroc classes describe the atmosphere as warm and welcoming – rather like a ‘family’.
A typical nuroc night begins at 7:30 pm with a 50-minute beginner class. This is followed by 30 minutes of social dancing where you can practise the skills learnt in class. At 9:00 pm the class is split into two groups; beginners who are those who’ve had less than eight lessons do a consolidation class with a teacher where they revisit the moves taught at that night’s beginner class and practise them at a slower pace. The remainder of the class do a more challenging Intermediate class.
These classes also go for 50 minutes, after which there is social dancing till 10:30 pm where you can socialise and dance with new friends.
At Nuroc beginners are issued with a class card and after each lesson they have the card stamped. When there are eight stamps on the card, the beginner is ready to progress to the Intermediate class. It is necessary to complete eight beginners classes before moving on to learn the technical skills required in the Intermediate class.
You don’t need a partner to attend dance classes as you are rotated around as the class progresses. Rotating partners improves your dancing as you dance with more experienced dancers. It’s also a great way to meet people because you get to talk to everyone by the end of the class. The ratio of men to women is fairly even. Some weeks there might be more women, other weeks there might be more men, but overall it balances out to a fifty-fifty ratio.
Details of cost, what to wear and venues can be found on the Nuroc website, plus you can register to receive nuroc newsletters via email if you wish.
Charles and Michelle also teach weekly rock and roll classes if that’s more to your liking and in May, in conjunction with Ceroc Australia, they are sponsoring two West Coast Swing teachers from USA to come to Sydney to teach workshops for 12 days. Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollman have won several West Coast Swing Championships in the USA and their workshops are guaranteed to be popular in Sydney.
Nuroc is great exercise. It’s also very sociable and a lot of fun. What are you waiting for? Have a look at the Nuroc website and join Charles and Michelle at a class soon.
