Objective:To investigate the severity of early mucous injury of small
intestines in rats with 30%full thickness burn at plate
au(3480m)and the protecitve effects of Rhadiola Astragalus Codonpsis Compoundon the rats.Methods:Wistar rats with 30%full thickness burn were ran domly devided into RACC application(R,n=48)and scalding group I (S,n=48)and another 8healthy Wistar rats as c ontrol group 2(C,n=8).4ml of RACC was garaged into the rat s tomach in R(2/d)and 4ml isotonic saline in S respectivey but no treatm ent in C.Rats'small
intestines were harvested for pathomorphological examination in the 3,6,12,24,48and 72postburn hou rs.Results:In the S,the
small intestines mucous were hyperemia and edema after 3h bur n.There were denaturation of small intestin es mucous cells and the brush border disappeared,then the epithelium cells was rotten atfe r 6~24h burn.The above pathological changes were very obvious afrer 48~72h burn and th ere were hemorrhahge focuses in intr insical mu-cous,hyperemia and edema at submuco s.In the R group,there was light edem a of small intestines mucous after 3h burn.There were a few of lymphocyte and neutro philic leukocyte in intrinsical mucous and epithelium of mucous didn' t become denafturation and rotten ofter 6~24h burn.The edem a and hyperemia of small intestines mucous be-come lightly after 48~72h burn.Conclusion:RACC exhibited beneficial to the pro tec-tion of rat mucus injury of small inte stines at plateasu induced by severe burn.
