?Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of these formulae with the effects of quickening the blood and transforming
stasis on serum lipid level and hemorheology among rabbits with experimental atheriosclerosis. Methods Atheriosclerosis model was prepared among rabbits by feeding high cholesterol diet at first. Then, concentrated decoctions of the formulae to be studied here were gastrically fed to animals, one group with one formula, and serum lipid level and hemorheology were determined respectively among all the animals before and after treatment. Results All the formulae studied here held effects on serum lipid level and hemorhedogy at various degrees to these experimental animals. Among them, Xuefuzhuyu Decoction mainly decreased the levels of TG, TC, LDL C,whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and hematocrit, Huoluoxiaolin Elixir significantly influenced the levels of TC, LDL C,whole blood viscosity and hematocrit, Shixiao Powder Obviously declined the levels of TC, TG, LDL C and hematocrit, Taohongsiwu Decoction remarkably brought down the levels of TG and whole blood viscosity, and Danshen Beverage largely induced the levels of whole blood viscosity, hematocrit, TC and LDL C decreasing, all being in the range of significant values?(P<0.05~0.01).Conclusions Xuefuzhuyu Decoction and Huoluoxiaolin Elixir hold the strongest effects on the serum lipid level and hemorheology of rabbits with experimental atheriosclerosis among the studied formulae here, while the others have various degrees of effects on these indexes. 〔
