prescription Bushen"and "prescription Jianpi" on spontaneous abortion (SA). Methods: An aborting kindney-deficiency rat model was created by giving hudroxyurea, and then luteal phase defect model was created by giving Mifepristone. Fourty-five pregnant SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups. Group A was given Hydroxyurea+Mifepristone+Prescription Zhuyun Ⅲ; Group B was given Hydroxyurea+Mifepristone+Prescription Bushen;Group C was given Hydroxyurea + Mifepristone + Prescription Yianpi; Group D was given Hydroxyurea + Mifepristone +
Progesteron injec-tionjGroup E was given Hydroxyurea+Mifepristone+NS;Group F was serve as normal pregnant control group. The indexes of weight, abortion rate, serum progesteron level, the positivtity rate of decidua progesteron receptor (PR) and the pathological changes of uterus and ovary were observed in different groups. Results: "Prescription Zhuyun Ⅲ " and "Prescription Bushen" could strengthen the function of corpus luteum, increase the serum level of progesteron and raise the content of progesteron receptor in decidua. But the "Prescription Jianpi" whose main functio was strengthening the spleen,did not have the same effect as above. Conclusion: Herbs which could supplement the kindney played a major role in treating the SA which was caused by defect of corpus luteum.
