Objective:To investigate the antiherpes effects on human simplex v irus type-1 of total
polysaccharides of Astragalus membranaceus
in vivo Methods:Used Acyclovir as positive control ,and used PBS and PBS which contained 10%DMSO as negative control ,used
guniea pigs model of cutaneous herpes virus infection, observed the antiherpes effects of total
polysaccharides in Astragalus membranaceus Results:The results of clinical observations showed that the cumulative score of the regions dealt with ACV,total polysaccharides were 14 20±6 70, 12 75±3 58 respectively; the time to healing days of the regions dealt with ACV,total polysaccharides were 7 70±1 08, 8 50±0 50 separately, these results had significances in statistics when they were compared with the regions dealt with PBS and PBS which contained 10%DMSO The pictures of each treatment regions and the measutements of virus titres of skin samples got same results Conclusion:It was suggested that the cumulative scores and time to healing days of skin regions dealt with ACV had no differences in statistics with the cumulative scores and time to healing days of akin regionsdealt with total polysaccharides, these results added up the results of measurement of virus titre and the pictures of the regions dealt with each drug to suggest the antiherpes effects of the total polysaccharides were close to ACV,and should be worth exploitation
