Aim: To investigate the protective effects of Shanhejiangzhi decoction(SHJZD) on acute liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride. Methods: The experimental models of acute liver injury were made by intraperitoneal injection of carbon tetrachloride(CCl 4). Mice were randomly divided into ①Control group; ②peanut oil group; ③CCl 4 group; ④physiological saline+CCl 4 group; ⑤SHJZD(lower dose)+CCl 4 group; ⑥SHJZD(moderate dose)+CCl 4 group; ⑦SHJZD(higher dose)+CCl 4 group. 30 min~1 h after the latest intragastric injection of SHJZD or physiological saline,0.12% carbon tetrachloride peanut oil solution were intraperitoneally injected to mice at a dose of 0.01 mL/g body weight, After mice were fasted for 16 h, animals were sacrificed. The severity of liver injury was assessed by histopathological examination and changes in GPT and GOT in the sera. Results: ①The activity of serum GPT or GOT in 5?6?7 group was much lower than in 3 group (P=0.000 1),there was statistic significant difference among 5?6?7 group (P=0.000 1). ②The histopathological results under microscope in 3 group were much serious than that in 6?7 group(P<0.01; P<0.001). Compared 5?6 group with 7 group, there was statistic difference (P<0.001;P<0.05). Conclusion: SHJZD has protective effects on acute liver injury in a dose-dependent manner.
